Plan review of phase I of a new electric car manufacturing facility, and CUP, for Lucid Motors. The project was comprised of a 192,784-sq. ft. Body in White structure, and an attached 564,906-sq. ft. Paint/General Assembly structure. These two buildings were attached to one another via a raised conveyor bridge element and had a separate CUP for the site. The entire project was reviewed as “at-risk” phased submittals, and SCA Building and Fire attended weekly meetings to discuss code concerns and proposed AMMR’s, as part of the overall review schedule. The project included Group F-1, H-2, H-3, B, A-3 and A-3 occupancy uses, and was two stories with additional large mezzanines or platforms of equipment. All turnarounds were met or exceeded with this expedited review process that allowed the vehicle manufacturing to begin months ahead of original proposed day one start-up of activities.
